How do phone call scams work?
Phone scammer will call you pretending to be from a trusted organisation such as a bank or insurance company.
These scam calls can either pre-record an automated message, or from a real person. They might ask you for your personal information, such as your banking details or pressure you to make a money transfer.
How to report a scam phone call
If you have responded to a scam phone call and have lost money or have been hacked as a result of responding to the call, you should report this to ActionFraud either on their website or by calling 0300 123 2040.
