Do you know any students aged 14-17 that are enthusiastic about technology and cybersecurity? If so, we have some important dates for their calendars!
This summer, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) are offering a range of FREE CyberFirst courses, each carefully designed to help young people in Northern Ireland explore their passion for tech and introduce them to the fast-paced world of cybersecurity.
Students will have the chance to learn all sorts of practical insights into digital safety and how everyday technology really works. Over these 5-day courses, they’ll meet like-minded people, learn about how we share information in the modern age and most importantly, acquire the skills to become a future leader in protecting our digital world.

CyberFirst Defenders gives students aged 14-15 (Year 11) a valuable introduction to the process of building and protecting small networks and personal devices. It helps increase their awareness of cybersecurity, whilst also equipping them with practical skills. We’ll help them visualise their cybersecurity career path, and guide them toward the technology-related qualifications they’ll need.

CyberFirst Defenders Virtual Summer Course

CyberFirst Futures introduces students aged 15-16 (Year 12) to the methods and motivation behind cybersecurity threats and ways to protect against them. This course offers insight into legislation, the typical behaviours of cyber attackers, and how to protect networks. They’ll also learn to secure personal devices, and the skills needed to keep their friends and family safe online.

CyberFirst Futures Virtual Summer Course

CyberFirst Advanced teaches students aged 16-17 (Year 13) the skills and behaviours they need to enter the cybersecurity or tech-based workplace. This course is aimed at those already studying computer science or have a passion for tech. They’ll gain skills in digital forensics, encryption technologies, penetration testing, and open-source intelligence techniques.
