Balmoral Show 2026

Published date:

The Northern Ireland Cyber Security Centre (NICSC) recently joined public sector colleagues at the Northern Ireland Government Departments Exhibition Centre during the Balmoral Show.

Organised by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), the Balmoral Show has been Northern Ireland’s premier agri-food event for over 150 years, continuing to celebrate and showcase the very best of local produce and industry.

Throughout the event, NICSC engaged with members of the public, offering practical cyber security advice and guidance, including:

  • How to secure mobile devices
  • Protecting smart devices within the home
  • Using the Suspicious Email Reporting Service
  • Identifying and avoiding phishing emails

NICSC also had valuable interactions with sole traders and small businesses, providing tailored advice on reducing the risk of cyber-attacks. This included promoting key National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) resources such as the Stop Think Fraud campaign, Exercise in a Box, and the Cyber Action Toolkit.

The Cyber Action Toolkit, which is free to use, supports organisations in taking simple, manageable steps to improve their cyber resilience and become more security-conscious.

We were once again joined on the stand by our colleagues from Go ON NI, and were pleased this year to also welcome representation from the PSNI’s Cyber Protect team.

The four-day event proved to be both busy and highly productive, offering NICSC an excellent opportunity to engage directly with members of the public and the business community on cyber security best practice.
