Registration is now open for CyberFirst Trailblazers and Adventurers courses.
Students in Years 9 and 10 in NI have an opportunity to learn about cyber security by taking part in free, virtual workshops during half term.
Students can book their place in either CyberFirst Trailblazers - for Year 9s - or CyberFirst Adventurers – for Year 10s.
The courses are run by the Smallpeice Trust in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and take place between Monday 8th and Friday 19th February.
To apply for one of these courses, students will need to be on half-term for the full duration of the course and be able to attend on both half-days.
The Trailblazers course is aimed at 11-12 year olds (Year 9 students in NI) and is designed to engage and encourage interest in cyber security and technology before students select their GCSEs. Each course will run over two half-day morning structured, instructor-led virtual sessions where the content will be delivered in a fun and interesting way.
The Adventurers course is designed for students who wish to continue their CyberFirst journey.
This online course is open to any Year 10 student in NI. This is the second in a series of courses which has been created to highlight the varied roles and jobs that exist and involve technology in the workplace.
The course is aimed at students who have not yet made their GCSE choices, so that they get the opportunity to see how studying computer science could potentially enhance their future career paths. The course will run over two half-day afternoon structured sessions.
